Where did the music begin?

“I inherited a guitar from my grandfather when I was 19 years old. My older brother, Oscar, taught me a few chords and the rest is history, my history with music. Music has wrapped me up, brought me to the staggering tops of mountains, and to the soul soothing comfort of the ocean. Through the hardest times in my life, it’s carried me like a wise mage, reminding me that character and creativity are mine alone. Music has escalated me to glorious heights and been the foundation of unbreakable bonds with friends that I’ll have until the end of the journey. I owe a lot to music and am grateful for it in my life.” - Max

Of late, Max has been playing with the Max Mackey Band, bringing his version of Genuine. Americana. Rock. to venues all over Colorado. With the band’s vocals driving an Americana sound, Max’s swirling guitar pulling listeners into creative spaces, and their genuine grass roots energy right up front, the Max Mackey Band is not to be missed.
The band’s current lineup includes: Max Mackey on guitar and vocals; Mark Florence on keys and vocals; Brittany Moylan on vocals; Scott Schneider on bass guitar; Dwight Muhlbradt on drums.

Max can also be found playing solo with his trusty Martin guitar ‘Grace’. “Solo shows are an opportunity to strip down sonically and play the music differently,” says Max. “I get to explore my voice and allow a vulnerability in playing that comes from a nowhere-to-hide space.” Max’s solo shows are intimate, expressive, and make for a damn great time.
